Arabplast and TeknoTube Arabia trigger multimillion dollar deals

The Arabplast and TeknoTube Arabia 2009 exhibitions concluded , triggering deals worth millions of dollars. The two events saw a turnout of 13572 visitors from 72 countries.
Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information & Services, co-organizer of both exhibitions said that this record success was clear evidence that the plastics and tubes industries in the Middle East are still on the upswing, defying the prevailing economic situation.

Through out the four days of both shows, majority of buyers came from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Yemen, Iraq, India, Pakistan and African countries.

Khanna said: "Industry professionals who visited the show were mostly decision makers in their companies, resulting in lucrative business deals at the two shows.”

Erhard Wienkamp, Division Director of co-partner Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, organiser of K and Tube in Düsseldorf, the world’s No. 1 events for these industries, agrees. “These fairs have developed into the Arab world’s leading communications and business platforms for plastics and rubber, industrial machinery and tubes and pipes . Through our combined efforts, we have succeeded in putting together events which provides a representative and comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art technology, products and services.”

Exhibitors showcasing their latest technology at the fair said the Middle East held tremendous potential for industrial machinery, given the rapid expansion and huge investments in its manufacturing sector.
The Taiwanese companies have sold more than 5 million dollars worth machinery products according to Linda Sun from the Taiwan Pavilion.

On display at Arabplast were new products and technologies in injection moulding, blow moulding, wrapping and packaging, pre- and post-plastic processing techniques as well as raw materials such as master batches, additives and polymers.
Arabplast and TeknoTube Arabia have also generated strong demand for overseas exhibitors from the region. It has registered remarkable number of trade enquiries and contacts made by exhibitors with trade professionals.

Khanna added: "Arabplast and TeknoTube proved that they are not only an information gathering venue but also turned out to be a sales platform at the manufacturing level."

Cristina Rossi, Sales Dept. Manager, I.M.E.C. Tubes which is participating at TeknoTube show, said: "We were here in the 2007 edition as well. We are part of the Italian pavilion. It is imperative to be present in this exhibition to increase our footprint in the region. Our international business constitutes 50 per cent of what we produce for the Italian market. We were able to meet Chinese and Indian customers at this show. We also worked on meeting potential agents to represent us in this market to open up regional offices at a later stage."
Arabplast offers visitors access to a wide spectrum of technological innovations in the plastics, packaging, rubber, chemical and polymer and petrochemical, while Teknotube displays latest solutions in tubes and pipes, industrial machinery & machine tools, metal working machinery and welding machinery industries.

Ing. Ruggero Bano, Managing Director of the German Vollmer Group participating at TeknoTube said: "We are working for one project in KSA. Our workforce worldwide is 700 people and our Middle East operations are managed through our Italy office. We were able to build new contacts through our participation at the show".

Paola Pedrotti, Managing Director, Italian Pedrotti Meccanica company said: "We are here through ASSIST organisation. This is our first participation. We have customers from Morroco, Tunisia and Egypt and we were able to get in touch with them through Arabplast".

Diana Lin, Yicheen Technology Co said: "We have used Arabplast as a barometer to test the market. We want to garner more business from this region and it is essential that we network with industry professionals as those whom we have met at the four days of the show".

Companies from the German pavilion have praised the organisation of the Arabplast show saying that the quality of visitors is better than last edition in 2007.

Wang Gen Hong, General Manager, Zhongyan Mould Industry Co said: "Quality of visitors is higher. We have met lots of visitors that have queries. We participate at four exhibitors worldwide and Arablast is one of them. The organisation is excellent".
Engineer Saleh Al Nozha, President of Tasnee Complex said: "We have known customers requirements at this exhibition. We met qualitative customers. We serve the UAE market via our KSA offices. We cover Africa, Middle East, Indian Continent and Asia Pacific".
