Ineos: Technical problem shuts down Grangemouth PP plant

A technical glitch forced Ineos (Lyndhurst / UK; www.ineos.com) to shut down its plant in Grangemouth / UK on 13 March 2010.

In response to a query by the newsletter Plastics Information Europe (PIE, Bad Homburg / Germany; www.pieweb.com), a company spokesman said the plant had been safely shut down, adding that the group hopes to begin restarting the facility over the weekend of 20-21 March 2010. He did not confirm media reports of Ineos having announced force majeure.
