KIEFEL expands its range of medical-sector products with a new filling system and the development of flexible, compact machines.

The Freilassing (Germany)-based company KIEFEL GmbH is developing new filling systems for infusion and blood bags, as part of its efforts to manufacture a full range of medical-sector products.

These filling systems are supplied both as standalone units and for integration into fully-automatic production lines. The advantage of this new filling technique lies in its compact design, and in the high-precision application of technology intended for use with all commonly-available filling systems. Integrated Cip/Sip systems ensure that these devices are used in accordance with the latest advances in the field, while fulfilling all the normal requirements of medical technology.

KIEFEL’s range of tried-and-tested machinery concepts destined for use in the manufacture of flexible medical bags is now extended by the addition of a “Medical Express” production unit. With this new approach, KIEFEL fulfils to perfection one of the key desires of all producers – namely the need to achieve high output with minimal use of space, while reacting with maximum flexibility to changing product requirements. KIEFEL can guarantee, with this development phase complete, reductions of between 30% and 50% in terms of floorspace requirements. Manual, semi-automatic and fully-automatic production units all form part of KIEFEL’s standard range in this respect, and machines can also be customised to meet each user’s precise needs.

Within KIEFEL’s light machinery concept as well as HF-, thermo-contact or special welding technologies can be used. This equipment, in supplement with further modules, is available in 2011 at KIEFEL’s laboratories for verification of customer applications too.
