Produktinformation

POLYMETRIX is a specialist for the thermal treatment of bulk materials. Our main focus is dedicated to treatment processes for virgin and recycled polyesters, polyamides and other polymers.

Typical applications for the products from our plants are packaging materials like PET bottles, high tenacity yarns like PA air bag, fibers or straps made from 100% recycled PET. The demanding properties for these applications are achieved with our treatment processes such as solid state polycondensation (SSP), drying and conditioning, or crystallization.

To design our processes we test all relevant material characteristics in our in-house technical facilities with respect to processing and the demands of the final application. The test results are used for process simulations and the subsequent scale-up to industrial-scale plants.

POLYMETRIX process technologies are robust and well proven within the plastics industry. Process steps involving the thermal treatment of polymers in the solid state enable the production of high quality products downstream. 

Decades of research and development based on comprehensive laboratory and analytical testing have led to an in depth process know-how characterized by high quality equipment and process technologies.

With the new Eco SSP technologies, POLYMETRIX is gaining additional market share! In 2015 alone, customers from all major regions commissioned POLYMETRIX with the supply of plants for an additional 2.8 million metric tons annual PET production capacity. Currently, POLYMETRIX is setting new standards with the construction of the world’s largest PET plant based on the trend-setting EcoSphereTM SSP technology.

In addition, POLYMETRIX develops and distributes new process technologies, in particular for producing virgin and recycled plastics. As SSP market leader POLYMETRIX is your technology, process and engineering partner for the thermal treatment of polyesters, polyamides and other polymers. The polymers from our plants are used for high value applications like PET bottles, yarns for seatbelts, tires, hot air balloons or high performance sports clothing from PET or PA and optical fibers made of PBT.

As a renowned technology and engineering company, POLYMETRIX has the proven experience to successfully provide complete manufacturing plants to its customers around the world. POLYMETRIX plants are based on our proprietary processes and equipment design. In addition to the process equipment, an overall plant design includes storage and handling of raw materials and finished products, as well as utility generation and distribution facilities. 

POLYMETRIX provides consulting services in the fields of process optimization and extension or conversion of existing plants, regardless of the original plant supplier. Unique laboratory-scale tests and process simulation models allow our specialists to assess customer specific material and plant characteristics. New plant designs or modifications are always optimized for these specific requirements.
