UNVEILING SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL SOLUTIONS TO ADVANCE A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Enabling Transitions to Sustainable Materials by a Holistic Approach to Carbon Footprint Reduction

DALLAS (October 8, 2025) – Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global specialty materials and chemical company, will showcase a series of sustainability-driven innovations during the K Show, 8-15 October in Düsseldorf, Germany. Under the theme “Designing the Future together,” Celanese is showcasing sustainable product launches, expanded portfolios and capabilities that empower customers to meet their environmental goals without compromising performance.

Our commitment to innovation is reflected in our ECO material portfolio:

♻️ Recycled Content Options – Featuring both post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) grades to support your circular design strategy.

Bio-based Alternatives – Using bio-circular feedstock via mass balance or non-depleting 1st or 2nd generation biomass via segregated approach enabling a higher share of renewable content.

Carbon Capture Innovation – Recycling CO₂ into low-carbon CCU methanol, used in our Hostaform® and Celcon® POM ECO-C – our POM copolymer with the lowest carbon footprint to date.

Now what`s new in our sustainable material portfolio?

POM ECO-C: Our Hostaform® and Celcon® POM ECO-C grades are now certified by ISCC CFC (Carbon Footprint Certification) at our Bishop and IPH sites. Verified through a third party audit, the certification recognizes improved carbon footprint performance achieved through the use of low-carbon CCU methanol.

Forton® PPS ECO-R: We’re excited to introduce Forton® PPS ECO-R – a high-performance material reinforced with recycled glass fiber using a mass balance approach. Designed to support your sustainability goals, Fortron® PPS ECO-R offers identical quality and performance allowing for drop-in replacement without product requalification.

•Finally, we are expanding our portfolio of PA and HTN material solutions:

  • Celanese has launched Zytel® PA66 and Frianyl® PA66 ECO-B, a drop-in place bio-circular solution that delivers up to 41% bio-content by weight and up to 21% PCF reduction compared to the standard grade. The products and supply chain are third party certified by ISCC PLUS following mass balance allocation.
  • Celanese has received ISCC PLUS certification for production of Zytel® HTN ECO-B advancing our drop-in place bio-circular nylon solution into high performing nylons. Resulting Zytel® HTN ECO-B products have up to 40% bio-content by weight and up to 25% PCF reduction compared to the standard grade.
  • Celanese expands its polyamide (PA) portfolio with recycled content for Zytel® PA ECO-R with PIR PA6 and PA66, as well as ocean-bound PCR PA6 formulations. Grades have recycled content up to a minimum 30% of the finished product weight and demonstrates up to a 38% PCF reduction.
  • A unique solution to incorporate recycled content into high temperature nylons without compromising mechanical performance is being made available through the new Zytel® HTN51 ECO-R portfolio with a minimum of 15-20% PIR by weight in the finished product.

Furthermore, Celanese has begun delivering its first PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) letters via AskChemille.com—our digital assistant for advanced material selection. This integration of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) capabilities into the Chemille® platform enhances digital transparency, enabling customers to make more informed, sustainability-driven choices and supporting their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting.

“At Celanese, we believe that enabling the circular economy brings real customer value,” said Steffi Götzel, Senior Director Sustainability at Celanese. “These innovations reflect our ongoing investment in a sustainable future. But our commitment goes beyond products: Our team of sustainability experts brings deep knowledge across key areas including EcoDesign and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) to help guide our customers` transition to more sustainable material solutions.

Celanese’s sustainability portfolio includes solutions for Hostaform® and Celcon® POM, Celanex® and Crastin® PBT, Hytrel® TPC, GUR® UHMW-PE, Vectra® and Zenite® LCP, Fortron® PPS, and Zytel® PA and HTN, all made from circular 1 feedstock that can enhance your applications and help reduce your product’s carbon footprint. You can also learn more about these novel solutions for various industries, and other innovative materials, at the Celanese stand 6/D02 during the K Show, 8-15 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.
